The Canon


The Canon Bar was once known as the Exchange Inn, according to the acid-etched glass panel in the door at the entrance. It is a pleasant traditional bar, which serves real ale and has a real fire.

There is a folk night on most Monday evenings. Also, most Wednesday evenings is games night, which include Backgammon, Chess and Dominoes.

Carters Rest


The Carters Rest is a friendly restaurant and pub located a few minutes walk from the Market Square and is directly opposite the historic Jedburgh Abbey. Wholesome food is served in the attractive lounge area and the varied menu always includes tasty specials and all the produce is sourced locally. The portions are generous and served with a genuine smile.

In addition to the main lounge area, there is a smaller dining area to the side and downstairs there is a large function room which can accomodate up to 60 people.  Real ale is now served on handpump and there is a pool table and dart board to the side of the bar area. Outside there is seating to the front of the building overlooking the Abbey and in the back is an enclosed beer garden.
